Business major requirements

The program at Penn State Greater Allegheny allows students to choose from one of these three concentrations. All three options have the same core business courses, then students take 18 credits in their chosen specialization.

Options

Accounting

Preparation for positions in business with an emphasis on the areas of financial and managerial accounting, systems and controls, auditing, and taxation.

Individualized business

The selection of 18 credits of study based on an individualized plan of study submitted by the student and approved by an adviser. The option allows the tailoring of a program of study to suit specific student needs.

Marketing and management

An emphasis on the skills and knowledge necessary for the business professional to function in community and regional centers of commerce.

Entrance Requirement

Completion of MATH 022 (College algebra 2) or higher (MATH 040, 041, 110, 140).

Other requirements

For the B.S. degree in Business, a minimum of 120 credits is required, 15 of which must be at the 400 level.
