Criminal Justice (A.S.)

An Associate Degree in Criminal Justice prepares you for an entry level position in a number of career areas, or can be used as a stepping stone to the four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice also offered at Penn State Greater Allegheny.

This program provides a study in law enforcement, as well as courts and corrections, both individually and as components of a system.  Students will learn and gain an understanding of crime causation theories and crime control policy.  

Your academic adviser will help you select elective courses that introduce you to topics that include: information sciences, security and risk analysis, biology, communications, or business.

Working with our Career Services Office, you will receive assistance on how to write cover letters and resumes helping you land your first job, or a new career opportunity.

With an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice,  our students have the opportunity to open the door in a number of career areas including: paralegal, correctional officer, fish and game warden, fire inspector and investigator, police dispatch, bailiff, and crime scene technician.
