Criteria and other information about the award

Who is eligible to be nominated?

Any full or part-time faculty member who has completed two years or more (at least four semesters) of continuous undergraduate teaching at Penn State Greater Allegheny, including this semester, is eligible.

Who can nominate a faculty member?

Any current or former full or part-time student, alumnus, faculty member, or staff member can nominate a faculty member.

Who sits on the Award Review Committee?

The Award Review Committee consists of the most recent recipient of the award, the Faculty Affairs Committee and a student representative selected by the Student Government Association.

What does the winner receive?

A $100.00 honorarium accompanies this award.

Please describe the nominee's qualities, accomplishments and/or efforts that make her/him a worthy candidate for the Penn State Greater Allegheny Faculty Scholar Award. Where appropriate, please describe the nominee’s research, scholarship, and creative initiatives, how they are linked to a discipline, and how the work may promote undergraduate research.
Describe any other qualities that you believe make this nominee a worthy candidate for the award, such as the individual's ability to add to the creation of new knowledge, to mentor/advise students in regard to research projects, and to promote disciplinary or interdisciplinary exploration.
