The Penn State Office for General Education is pleased to announce an opportunity for faculty interested in developing a new Integrative Studies General Education course.
Each year, students from seven Penn State campuses in Western Pennsylvania commemorate the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday by coming together and performing volunteer work. This year’s event was held on Monday, January 16, with Fayette serving as the host campus. Nearly 100 students participated.
Instead of having the day off, the student volunteers headed out to various non-profit sites to work.
Students in Instructor in Engineering Alandra Kahl’s Introduction to Engineering Design (EDSGN100) class designed and made 3D printed prosthetic hands as part of the E-Nable foundation project (enablingthefuture.org/) and the Prosthetic Kids Hand Challenge (handchallenge.com).
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON, is a yearlong effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. The committee from Penn State Greater Allegheny is working in full gear to raise money and prepare for the big event.

FBI Director James Comey's disclosure in the final days of the 2016 election that the bureau had revived its investigation of Hillary Clinton's emails was "unethical and unprecedented," said Douglas Charles, associate professor of history at Penn State Greater Allegheny, during a program Feb. 6 at Penn State Behrend in which he discussed his study of the FBI and its handling of sensitive information.
Penn State Greater Allegheny Associate Professor of Integrative Arts Lori Hepner’s work is featured in "Doubt," an art exhibition at SPACE Gallery in Pittsburgh. The exhibit runs Friday, February 10 through March 26. The exhibit was featured in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
