Penn State Educational Partnership Program (PEPP)

Penn State Educational Partnership Program (PEPP)

PEPP at Greater Allegheny

PEPP is a professional development program for Penn State students interested in careers that focus on children. We provide Learning Assistant positions mentoring and tutoring to undergraduate students seeking field experiences working with children. Most placements operate as paid internships. PEPP also provides Research Assistant positions for students who would like to get field experience as well as engagement in theory and policy.

Research Assistants work on literature reviews of research in education and other social sciences focused on children and youth. Learning Assistants will prepare lessons and projects for children at sites in the surrounding communities. Our partner sites include day care centers, schools and special development programs. Each undergraduate works with a partner and site supervisor to plan and deliver activities for the children. Because of scheduling requirements, we do ask that PEPP members commit to a minimum of two sessions per week with an additional monthly prep session to meet and discuss progress. However, there is a one day per week option for students with tighter schedules.

If you are interested in joining PEPP or having your organization become one of our partner sites, please contact Tahirah Walker at tda3@psu.edu or by phone at 412-675-9077.
