Penn State McKeesport will host a performance by singer/songwriter Yewande on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the campus residence hall.
In an industry that produces one flavor of the month after another, Yewande (pronounced E-wan-day) has become one of the most sought after independent artists in the world. Her socially charged brand of Urban Rock music has captured audiences from B.E.T.?s ?106th Park? to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In the elusive college market, her award-winning lecture-performance on the evolution of American music and popular culture has raised the consciousness of a new generation.
