Penn State students aid help in Hurricane Harvey relief

Penn State students from around the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania gave up their Spring Break to instead opt-in for an alternative spring break assisting in the Hurricane Harvey relief. Penn State Greater Allegheny (PSUGA) was one of the participating campuses.

Penn State students spend break renovating Texas homes damaged by hurricane

More than 100 students from six Penn State campuses spent spring break in Texas, cleaning out homes that were damaged by Hurricane Harvey. "It's easy to repair a house," one said. "It's not as easy to put a home back together."

“Puerto Rico se levanta” is the phrase serving as inspiration as the island begins to rebuild, translating to “Puerto Rico rises.” Puerto Rican students at Greater Allegheny campus are spearheading a collection for Hurricane Maria victims.

Students learn while giving gift of new hands

Students in Instructor in Engineering Alandra Kahl’s Introduction to Engineering Design (EDSGN100) class designed and made 3D printed prosthetic hands as part of the E-Nable foundation project (enablingthefuture.org/) and the Prosthetic Kids Hand Challenge (handchallenge.com).
