The nature of the job market is competitive, and most employers seek candidates with experience. In order for students to be best prepared for post-graduate employment, you must plan to complete at least one credit-bearing internship experience. At PSUGA, most of our degree programs REQUIRE a credit-bearing internship while all programs have an option to fulfill degree requirements with internship credits. Career Services, in conjunction with our Chancellor, has a goal of 100% student internship.
Begin your process with a meeting in Career Services to locate local and regional internship opportunities and to learn what employer expectations may be in the professional setting of your choice. We strongly encourage students to begin the internship search process at least ONE YEAR prior to the semester that you seek to earn credit for your experience. Keep in mind that the top companies recruit and place summer internships during the previous fall semester - plan ahead to ensure that you do not miss out on these great internships.
