If you have looked at the degrees that we offer at Greater Allegheny and you still believe that none of them directly addresses your particular academic interests or career pathways, then the Multidisciplinary Studies (MDS) degree is for you. You may wish to design an individualized plan of study that consists of courses across at least three (3) different disciplines and/or departments.
Essentially, as a student, you need to have an interest in several fields of study, not just one, rather than only one, and you must make a commitment of time and effort to design your own coherent plan of study.
Faculty advisers and the MDS program coordinator are available to assist you in this process. If, after your investigation of majors in the standard disciplines, you find that none can adequately meet your academic goals, you may be a candidate for Multidisciplinary Studies.
