The first step in orientation for international students is an individual New Student Orientation (NSO) and academic advising session. Some preparation is needed before the actual NSO advising session.
- Register for Virtual NSO at Penn State Greater Allegheny (beginning April 1)
- Prepare for Academic Advising by completing your pre-NSO checklist
- Take the ALEKS Math Assessment
- Learn about the financial aid process for first-year students and paying your bill
- Attend Virtual NSO
The second step is move-in for International Students and required International Orientation programming.
While you are able to schedule your courses for the Fall term over video conference early, you are still expected to attend a New Student Orientation session, prior to the start of the semester.
More information about your early move-in and your NSO date has been sent directly to your email. For questions about the move-in process and your housing contract, contact our Housing and Residence Life offices.
More information about travel, re-entry, health insurance and more can be found on the University's Global Programs website.
All new students (regardless of age) are expected to complete Penn State AWARE (a sexual assault awareness learning module), and students who are 21 and under must complete Penn State SAFE (Student Alcohol Feedback and Education). Following orientation, please check your Penn State Webmail account for information and updates about accessing and completing Penn State SAFE and Penn State AWARE.
You may log in and complete the Penn State SAFE and Penn State AWARE programs once the invitation is sent via email. Information and log-on for the SAFE and AWARE online learning resources can be found at http://edge.psu.edu/firstyear/.
