Campus faculty member named distinguished professor

Margaret L. Signorella, professor of psychology and women's, gender, and sexuality studies at Penn State Greater Allegheny, has been named a distinguished professor by Penn State. She is the first Greater Allegheny campus faculty member to be named a distinguished professor.

Purse bash planned as fundraiser for alumni scholarship

Every year, the Penn State Greater Allegheny Alumni Society plans events that help them raise money for their alumni scholarship. This year a purse bash will be added to the list of fundraising events and is scheduled for 5:15 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Wunderley Gymnasium on the Greater Allegheny campus.

Penn State Greater Allegheny community helps clean up local neighborhood

Penn State Greater Allegheny students, faculty and staff recently participated in a project to help a local community. The Braddock Economic Development Corporation and the State Health Improvement Plan sponsored "Clean Up 15104," a day dedicated to the clean up of the neighborhoods included in that zip code: Braddock, North Braddock and Rankin.

Instructor to direct Willa Cather seminar

Penn State Greater Allegheny Senior Instructor in English James Jaap is co-directing "Beyond Nebraska: Willa Cather’s Pittsburgh," the 16th International Willa Cather Seminar, to be held at Duquesne University on June 11-17. Four English majors from Jaap’s English 487: Senior Seminar will be presenting at the seminar.
