Make yourself at home.
Where you eat, sleep, and build your community is a big part of life at Penn State. It’s what we call “residence life.”
Every Penn State campus—whether or not they have on-campus housing—helps you cultivate that sense of community through housing and dining options.
So, introduce yourself to your neighbors. Grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. And make yourself at home.
Living at Penn State Greater Allegheny
Living on campus at McKeesport Hall puts you at the center of the Penn State experience. You’ll be close to classes, dining, and campus events, making it easy to get involved, make friends, and feel at home. About 220 students live in the hall, so there’s always someone to study with, hang out with, or explore the campus with.
The hall has quiet study spaces, rec rooms, and high-speed internet to support both learning and social activities. Students come from across Pennsylvania, the U.S., and the world, creating a diverse and welcoming community. The Residence Hall Council organizes fun events, including cultural programs, trips, and campus gatherings, so there’s always something happening.
Safety and support are top priorities. Live-in professional staff and Resident Assistants (RAs) are available to help and make sure the hall is safe and comfortable. The hall’s location makes getting around campus easy, with dining, classrooms, and recreation all nearby.
The Office of Residence Life provides extra support, helping students adjust to college life, connect with resources, and get guidance for personal or academic challenges. Living on campus also gives you the chance to build skills that will serve you beyond graduation while forming lasting friendships.
In case of emergencies, University Police are available 24/7, and RAs are on duty throughout the academic year. Mail and packages can be sent to:
