'Not a Day Off, But a Day On'

Students learn while giving gift of new hands

Penn State Greater Allegheny engineering students designed and made 3D printed prosthetic hands as part of a project to help children without hands.

Students in Instructor in Engineering Alandra Kahl’s Introduction to Engineering Design (EDSGN100) class made the prosthetic hands as part of the E-Nable foundation project (enablingthefuture.org) and the Prosthetic Kids Hand Challenge (handchallenge.com) in Fall 2016.

“Are you free if you cannot vote, if you cannot be sure that the same justice will be meted out to you as to your neighbor, if you are expected to live on a lower level than your neighbor and to work for lower wages, if you are barred from certain places and from certain opportunities?”

While students explore campus, a parent makes a discovery of her own

While her son was attending orientation, Michelle Doonan made an interesting discovery.

Freshman Jonathon Doonan attended orientation this fall at Penn State Greater Allegheny, along with his mother, Michelle. Jonathon got to experience some things new to him on campus – he learned about his classes, some academic programs, and even clubs and athletic teams.

All That’s Jazz… and so much more!

Event helps students by raising money for scholarships.

Most people who have attended the All That’s Jazz Scholarship Benefit at Penn State Greater Allegheny will tell you that it is a great night filled with beautiful music, delicious food, fun, and fabulous auction prizes.  But, it is so much more than that, especially to the students who are helped with the money raised at the event.
