Penn State students from around the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania gave up their Spring Break to opt for an Alternative Spring Break assisting in the Hurricane Harvey relief.

As part of new campus initiatives to combat clothing and food insecurities in the Pittsburgh region, Greater Allegheny campus has opened Free Store 15132 to provide community members with necessities at no cost. The store will be managed by students through volunteer work, providing them with valuable real-world experiences.

In the fall of 2018 Penn State Greater Allegheny will begin offering a new grant and resources for eligible students living on campus. The grant is a result of an initiative by The Pittsburgh Promise, the Preferred College Program.
