Criteria and other information about the award

Who is eligible to be nominated?

Any full or part-time faculty member who has completed two years or more (at least four semesters) of continuous undergraduate teaching at Penn State Greater Allegheny, including this semester, is eligible.

Who can nominate a faculty member?

Any current or former full or part-time student, alumnus, faculty member, or staff member can nominate a faculty member.

Who sits on the Award Review Committee?

The Award Review Committee consists of the most recent recipient of the award, the Faculty Affairs Committee and a student representative selected by the Student Government Association.

What does the winner receive?

A $100.00 honorarium accompanies this award.

Please describe the nominee's qualities, accomplishments and/or efforts that make her/him a worthy candidate for the Penn State Greater Allegheny FacultyTeaching Award. Where appropriate, please describe how the nominee encourages critical, creative and independent thinking, motivates students to learn, and uses effective teaching methods in the classroom.
