Dr. Veronica Montecinos, chair of the Teaching International committee, has organized a visit by students and faculty to the Pittsburgh Buddhist Center on October 25th.
Among the events planned for the visit by the center are a talk on "The Relevance of the concept of Nonviolence in Theravada Buddhism In the Current Context of a Violent World" by The Venerable Pemaratne Thero, and a demonstration of Theravada Buddhist meditation and chanting by the five Buddhist monks in residence.
