Guest speaker to discuss Serbian maternity ward space

Ljiljana Pantovic will speak on Monday, November 17, 2014 at noon. Her topic, "Negotiating Space in the Serbia Maternity Ward," is sponsored by the campus Teaching International program and this year's focus on the Balkans. 

Ljiljana is currently pursuing her PhD in Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh.  Previously she has received a Masters in Gender Studies from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary and a Masters in Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Belgrade, Serbia.  Her research centers around gender in the Balkans.  Specifically dealing with medical institutions, reproduction politics and reproductive technologies.
