Vanessa German to be next keynote speaker for Crossing Bridges Summit

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Penn State Greater Allegheny is preparing to host their signature program, the Crossing Bridges Summit.

Vanessa German, a visual and performance artist from Homewood, Pennsylvania, will be the keynote speaker at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, in the Wunderley Gymnasium.

German’s performance will introduce summit attendees to an award-winning artist who explores the power of art and love as a transformative force in the dynamic cultural ecosystem of communities and neighborhoods.

The Crossing Bridges Summit, in its second year, considers ways in which Penn State Greater Allegheny can serve as a catalyst for social change and bridge racial divides in the community, through four pillars: speaker series, unity talks, summit talks and the visiting scholar series.

The summit continues at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. in the Ostermayer Room of the Student Community Center, to discuss how campus and community members can take German’s ideas and implement them within the Mon Valley.

General Admission and Student Tickets are FREE. RSVP is required for both events. Limited tickets are available.
