Our structured internship process exists to facilitate student success and ease the stress associated in securing the right internship opportunity.
Register for Internship Prep Course
Starting in the 4th and 5th semesters, students may enroll in a one-credit (1cr.) internship prep course. This academic course prepares students for the application process, refines networking skills, and helps students succeed in interviews.
Initiate Internship Search
Start searching for internships in your 4th or 5th semester, with the intention of commencing the internship during your 6th semester. Broaden your horizons by applying to at least six (6) different potential internships. After applying, make sure to follow up every two weeks to express continued interest.
Consult with Coordinators and Stay Updated
Meet with the campus internship coordinator and faculty advisor to complete and submit your internship proposal. Regularly post bi-weekly updates into the CANVAS internship course to keep everyone informed about your progress.
