Our SECURE (Science and Engineering Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience) Program welcomes students as early as their first year to work closely with our Chemistry, Engineering, and Biology faculty and other students. In SECURE, you will be a member of an interdisciplinary team conducting hypothesis driven research.
Engagement in undergraduate research is known to provide numerous benefits for participants. These benefits include a more positive attitude about science, an improved understanding of fundamental scientific principles, and the ability to analyze and interpret data. We also find that students who have engaged in this experience report higher self-confidence in their overall scientific abilities."
Our nationally and internationally recognized faculty bring both extensive teaching and industry experiences to the classroom. Through their relationships with colleagues across the country, our students are able to learn from guest speakers working in information technology, sustainability, psychology, health professions, and cyber-security fields.
