Penn State's 2+2 Plan gives you the flexibility to start your studies at one campus and then transition to another campus that offers your major to complete your degree. At Penn State Greater Allegheny, you can complete the first two years of nearly all of Penn State’s 275+ majors.

There is only one Penn State. And the path toward a Penn State degree can start wherever is right for you.

With Penn State campuses located across Pennsylvania, students can start their college journey close to home, then transition seamlessly to University Park or another campus to finish their degree through Penn State’s 2+2 plan. 

Some students choose to remain at one campus like Greater Allegheny all four years, while others take advantage of the flexibility to explore different locations. It’s one of the many ways Penn State helps students earn a degree they’re passionate about.

Through the 2+2 Plan, students can start their degree at most Penn State campuses. The curriculum, faculty standards and academic expectations are consistent across the board, ensuring the same high-quality education. Diplomas do not list where you start, and every graduate earns a degree from Penn State, backed by the strength, reputation and network of the entire University.

A World-Class Education at an Affordable Price

Cost matters when choosing a college. At Greater Allegheny campus, about 88% of students receive financial aid, and many receive awards covering more than half of tuition. First-year applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when they apply by February 1. We work closely with students and families to make a Penn State education affordable.
