#GivingTuesday to support Penn State Greater Allegheny Students
McKeesport, Pa. — On Dec. 1, Penn State Greater Allegheny will participate in #GivingTuesday, an international day of philanthropy and invite employees, alumni, and friends to combat Food Insecurity.
In 2017, the campus launched a Food Security signature program to assist Greater Allegheny students who struggle to afford groceries or obtain sufficient food to eat. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program has served an increasing number of students, making this year’s #GivingTuesday program more important than ever before.
Donations will benefit the campus food pantry, and grab and go stations located in various building. To learn more about this year’s #GivingTuesday initiative, visit our campaign page.
Gifts made on #GivingTuesday 2020 will advance “A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence." This focused campaign seeks to elevate Penn State's position as a leading public university in a world defined by rapid change and global connections. With the support of alumni and friends, "A Greater Penn State" seeks to fulfill the three key imperatives of a 21st-century public university: keeping the doors to higher education open to hardworking students regardless of financial well-being; creating transformative experiences that go beyond the classroom; and impacting the world by fueling discovery, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
