The Center for Academic and Career Excellence (ACE) is a federally funded Trio Student Support Services Program. The ACE program is designed to support student success for those who are the first in their immediate family to attend college, are low-income, or have a disability. Our mission is to improve the academic performance of our students, increase student retention and graduation rate, and career options.
Students who meet the requirements to join ACE, will gain access to a network of resources that link their goals with services, guided support, and meaningful experiences that facilitate their academic and professional success.
Eligibility Requirements: To be selected for ACE, students must be a citizen of the United States or meet residency requirements and meet AT LEAST ONE of the following criteria:
- Low-income
- First-generation college student (neither parent/guardian has a Bachelor's degree)
- Have a learning or physical disability
ACE services include: Academic advising, tutoring, ACE-only classes, access to a limited number of need-based grants, access to ACE academic success workshops, access to a textbook resource library, assistance with career planning, assistance applying for graduate school, assistance with completing your FAFSA, assistance completing internship research and scholarship research.
ACE Participation Requirements:
- Actively participate in the Student Success by Design Canvas Group and other ACE-sponsored activities
- Meet (in-person or virtually) with a member of the ACE staff to discuss your academic and professional goals at least once each semester
- Join the ACE organization on EnGAge
Completed ACE applications will be reviewed and if students meet eligibility requirements, they will receive a welcome email and be added to an online "Student Success by Design" Canvas group. At that time, students will be able to access the ACE grant application, textbook loan application, and other ACE resources posted in the Canvas group.
