Penn State Greater Allegheny’s Penn State Educational Partnership Program is hosting girls from the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh on campus this week. Thirty-eight girls from the Pittsburgh region are staying on campus from June 19-25 as part of the Urban League's Black Female Leadership Development Institute.
Aaron Whigham has been appointed as community relations coordinator at Penn State Greater Allegheny, effective April 2016. The goal of the new position is to better connect people in the region to higher education by reaching out to individuals and families, especially those from marginalized and disenfranchised neighborhoods and communities, and developing meaningful partnerships with organizations and institutions that share Penn State Greater Allegheny’s vision of community engagement and revitalization.
Kids’ College is returning to Penn State Greater Allegheny for the Summer of 2016. Kids' College is a summer enrichment program that offers a diverse selection of age-appropriate classes for children and teenagers from 6 through 14 years of age. The week-long camps (Sports camp is 4 days) offer half-day and full-day activities in a variety of topics, including art, sports, cooking, science, computers, drama and robotics. Camps take place during various weeks beginning July 11 through Aug. 11.
