Penn State Greater Allegheny has announced that Mark Jackson has been named the new head coach of the men?s baseball program.
Jackson spent a total of 19 years of his career directing the baseball programs at Point Park University and the University of Pittsburgh. He directed dramatic turnarounds at both schools. The Point Park program advanced to the NAIA World Series five times under his direction and the University of Pittsburgh team won two Big East titles. Overall, Jackson has earned a career coaching record of 720-315 for a .696 winning percentage and has been inducted into the Point Park University and the Western Pennsylvania Jewish Sports Hall of Fames.
Jackson received a bachelor of science degree from Penn State and a master?s degree from Temple University.
?I am excited to join the Penn State Greater Allegheny Athletic department. I plan to continue to build on the excellent foundation that is in place already with the baseball program,? said Jackson. ?My ultimate goal is to help each player to mature as a student, as an athlete, and as a person.?
