MCKEESPORT, Pa. – The Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (PMAHCC) has announced that Jacqueline Edmondson, chancellor and chief academic officer at Penn State Greater Allegheny, has joined PMAHCC’s board of directors. A partnership between PMAHCC and Greater Allegheny began in 2018, when the two organizations helped exchange students from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez join Greater Allegheny’s community.
“The PMAHCC Foundation is proud to welcome Dr. Jacqueline Edmondson to our board,” said Carmen Malloy, chairman of the PMAHCC board of directors. “We believe that she has the talent and tools necessary to continue to strengthen our mission of serving the Hispanic community to make Pittsburgh a better region for all.”
“It is such an honor and really so humbling to be invited to serve on the board for the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,” said Edmondson. “The PMAHCC is an amazing organization, and it has been a wonderful partner to Penn State Greater Allegheny.”
Edmondson continued, “The members are incredibly committed to education and to providing support for students, and their work toward this end is so impressive. I look forward to our work together, and I am confident we will have an incredibly positive impact in the Pittsburgh region.”
Edmondson will join Brent Rondon, Alberto Benzaquen, Yohana Williams and Aileen Ruiz on the 2019 board.
PMAHCC is in the central business district of downtown Pittsburgh and has approximately 270 members.
