Penn State Greater Allegheny athletic director and head baseball coach Jim Chester was featured on the June 21 episode of "Inside Pirates Baseball," which aired on ROOT Sports.
Chester, just after completing the best season of his career, was featured on the show getting a few pointers from someone who knows a thing or two about leading a ball club, Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle.
Chester joined the campus in 2007, inheriting a team coming off an 0-9 season. Chester and the Lions have had winning seasons every year since, culminating this year with a Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Championship and a second place finish in the 2013 USCAA Small College World Series. He and his coaching staff led the 2013 team to a finish of 35-17, 19-3 in the PSUAC. The 52 games played sets a new all-time record for the campus, while the 35 wins tied the mark. Chester also registered his 200th career victory this season.
Penn State Greater Allegheny offers students a variety of sports in which to compete.
