Benefits

Living on campus has many benefits. Being a resident allows you to have the ultimate college experience by living with other students who share your goals and ambitions. For our residents, independence is a major benefit to living on campus.

Memories and Friendships

At Penn State Greater Allegheny, living in McKeesport Hall makes you part of the Penn State community where long-lasting relationships with fellow students, faculty, and staff mature.

The residence hall provides student housing, a large study lounge, as well as two recreational rooms. Each residence unit is equipped with high-speed T3 internet hook-ups. Up to 220 students may occupy the residence hall each year. Major renovations were completed in the summer of 2004.

Academics, Diversity, and Activities

The strong academic climate of McKeesport Hall is fostered by tutoring from the Learning Center and ACE program, and study rooms for quiet study. A social and cultural environment is also evident in McKeesport Hall through student activities, a recreational room, and a large central lobby. Diversity is evident and embraced with students representing different states and countries.

The Residence Hall Council is made up of resident students who advocate for the needs of students living on campus and provides a number of social, educational, and cultural activities including field trips to area theatres, movie houses, museums, shopping plazas and malls, and parks. The Residence Hall Council also organizes parties, video nights and dances.

Safety, Comfort, and Convenience

McKeesport Hall has 2 live-in professional staff members that are always available. Each floor in McKeesport Hall is staffed by a Resident Assistant (RA) who serves as the primary resource and aide for the residents on that floor. RAs are carefully selected and trained to ensure a safe and peaceful environment suitable for students to study and live. Getting around the campus is easy with the close proximity to classes, recreational facilities, dining services, and free on-campus parking.
