Crime prevention at Penn State Greater Allegheny is a community-based program. Officers from University Police and Public Safety work full-time on crime prevention topics and services. To increase safety, the Safety Committee meets once a semester to discuss crime prevention on campus. Involvement by all members of Penn State Greater Allegheny and the community is essential to the success of the program. By taking an active role in crime prevention, the quality of life for students, faculty, staff and the neighborhood is greatly improved.
Penn State Greater Allegheny’s crime prevention program increases awareness and campus safety through the dissemination of materials and presentations geared toward reducing criminal opportunity. A variety of programs are utilized to encourage security-conscious behavior.
