Fueling Student Success
Scholarships and Student Support
A Penn State education should be within reach for every student. Scholarships, stipends, and other aid make it possible for students to gain hands-on experience, do research, and take on leadership roles. Your support gives them the boost they need to thrive and graduate ready to make a difference.
GA Ready Program
GA Ready helps students see what’s next, and be what’s next by building professional skills that connect directly to their future careers. Each student leaves campus with real-world experience, a strong résumé, and valuable connections. Your support can help grow this program and fund a staff leader to guide its continued success.
Athletics and Student Life
Athletics bring our community together and create school pride. We’re launching a project to renovate the soccer field to NCAA standards, improving the fan experience and expanding opportunities for men’s and women’s teams. A $1.1 million investment will make this field a true home for student-athletes and fans alike.
Basic Needs and Food Security
No student should have to choose between food and education. Since 2018, the Food Security Initiative has helped students through Grab & Go stations, emergency meal plans, and the Lion’s Pantry. Your support keeps this program going, providing food, personal care items, and peace of mind so students can focus on their studies.
Leading Through Innovation
The Digital Fluency Project
Recognized as an Apple Distinguished School, Greater Allegheny campus gives every student, faculty, and staff member an iPad and the tools to learn, create, and collaborate. Annual support of $80,000 keeps this program strong and helps us stay at the forefront of digital learning.
Undergraduate Research and Discovery
Greater Allegheny campus connects Penn State research to real-world challenges in the Mon Valley. Philanthropy supports student research stipends, summer projects, and community-based studies that promote innovation and hands-on problem solving.
Reimagining the J. Clarence Kelly Library
We’re reimagining the J. Clarence Kelly Library as a modern, flexible learning space. Plans include areas for collaboration, technology, and creativity. With $2.5 million in renovation needs and naming opportunities available, this project is a true investment in the future of learning.
Mon Valley LaunchBox
The Mon Valley LaunchBox is an innovation hub that supports local entrepreneurs and small business owners. Your gift can help fund an entrepreneur-in-residence and programs that teach essential business skills—creating jobs, opportunity, and growth in the Mon Valley.
One Community Impacting Many
Community Engagement
Greater Allegheny campus is proud to serve the Mon Valley. We’re committed to building understanding, equity, and opportunity for all. With your help, we can strengthen partnerships and support programs that improve the region’s economic, cultural, and social well-being.
Health Care and Workforce Development
We prepare students for in-demand careers in health care, social work, psychology, and related fields. Programs like the Clinical Research Training Program—with Penn State College of Medicine and Allegheny Health Network— give students hands-on experience through internships and projects. Your gift supports stipends, travel, and learning opportunities that prepare them for meaningful work.
High School Pathways
Donor support helps connect local high schools to Greater Allegheny campus. These programs make it easier for students to earn college credits early, reduce time to degree, and prepare for future careers in our region.
Student Travel and Global Opportunities
Travel changes lives. Whether studying abroad or taking part in leadership experiences across the U.S., students gain perspective and confidence. The Student Travel and Experiential Learning Fund ensures every student has the chance to explore the world beyond campus.
