Welcome Week is designed to bring together new students to kick off your Penn State journey. This required program helps prepare you for academic challenges ahead and shares resources to enhance your success as a new Penn State student. During Welcome Week, you will:
- Meet faculty, staff, and fellow students
- Learn about campus life and prepare for academic challenges and resources
- Attend interactive workshops led by faculty and staff to understand academic procedures, student responsibilities, electronic resources, campus support, and more!
Welcome Week also features our Welcome Convocation, formally welcoming you to Penn State Greater Allegheny. You can register for this student-only event in VZO once you've selected your NSO date.
Before Starting Classes
Required Immunizations
All incoming undergraduate students must submit proof of immunizations before arriving on campus. More information can be found on the immunization web page.
Health insurance
Log into LionPATH to check your to-do list for waiving or enrolling in PSU Health Insurance. Visit the health insurance information page for details.
Books
The bookstore has textbooks for your courses during the first week of August. This is the ideal time to purchase your books without facing large crowds. Use psu.bncollege.com for convenient textbook purchases.
Parking Permit
Complete the parking permit application to park your car on campus. Permits are free and can be picked up at Police Services in the Frable Building.
