New grant to live on campus

In the fall of 2018 Penn State Greater Allegheny will begin offering a new grant and resources for eligible students living on campus. The grant is a result of an initiative by The Pittsburgh Promise, the Preferred College Program.

On September 6, a crew at Penn State Greater Allegheny broke ground on a new community garden with the hopes of helping to combat food insecurity in the local neighborhoods.

14th Annual All That's Jazz Scholarship Benefit set for October 14th

Penn State Greater Allegheny will celebrate 14 years of great jazz music, delicious food, fun, and fellowship at the 14th annual All That’s Jazz Scholarship Benefit.

The events will be held Saturday, October 14 in the Student Community Center on campus. 

More than $1 million has been raised for scholarships in the past 13 years through All That’s Jazz.

Welcome back students

The past few weeks have been filled with the hustle and bustle of the Penn State Greater Allegheny community getting ready to welcome back students for fall classes. 

The time has come.  Students began arriving on campus this week in anticipation of the first day of classes – Monday, August 21.

Shakeria Carter, a senior majoring in Communications, is spending the next four months in Ghana, West Africa as a full-time student at the University of Ghana.  She will also be teaching at Future Leaders, which aids underprivileged students of Ghana.

Summer is just beginning, but the Penn State Greater Allegheny campus is gearing up for the fall 2017 semester.  The first New Student Orientation (NSO) sessions were held on May 26 and June 7.
