The ACE Program (Academic and Career Excellence) at Penn State Greater Allegheny is a federally funded TRIO Student Support Services program. It’s here to help first-generation college students, students from low-income families, and students with disabilities succeed in college.
Our Mission
Our mission is to enhance academic performance, increase student retention and graduation rates, and expand career options for our students.
Who Can Join?
Students must be U.S. citizens (or meet residency requirements) and meet at least one of these:
From a low-income household
First-generation college student (neither parent/guardian has a bachelor’s degree)
Have a learning or physical disability
How to Apply
Completed ACE applications will be reviewed, and eligible students will receive a welcome email and be added to the online "Student Success by Design" Canvas group. This group provides access to the ACE textbook loan application, and other valuable resources.

Tutoring–help in a variety of subjects
ACE-only Classes–special courses for ACE students
Workshops–tips on study skills, time management, and more
Textbook Library–free access to course materials
Career Planning–support with career goals and pathways
Graduate School Help–guidance on applications and planning
FAFSA Support–assistance with financial aid forms
Internship and Scholarship Search–resources to find opportunities
Participation Expectations
Stay active in the Canvas group and ACE activities
Meet with ACE staff at least once per semester (in-person or virtual)
