MCKEESPORT, Pa. – Penn State Greater Allegheny welcomes back “Starstruck,” “Born This Way,” “Poker Face,” “Gypsy,” “Baad Romance,” “Applause,” “Edge of Glory,” “Judas” and “Love Game,” the goats who helped remove brush in difficult areas on the McKeesport-based campus in the fall of last year.
The goats – who are named after Lady Gaga songs – returned to campus on Tuesday, May 7, and are located on the hillside along the campus’ crooked kilometer walking path.
The return of the GAGA program signifies Greater Allegheny’s continuing commitment to regional sustainability efforts. Goatscaping is an effective, eco-friendly way to manage vegetation. It uses no herbicides, leaves no waste and naturally fertilizes the soil.
The goats will be stationed on campus until the end of May and return in August.
