Why We THON
THON is a yearlong, student-run effort to raise funds for and awareness of the fight against pediatric cancer. Every February a year's worth of fundraising ends with a 46-hour dance marathon in the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State University Park. Students, as well as pediatric cancer patients and their families, can relax, have fun, and share stories of courage and inspiration at THON, which is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world.
For The Kids ®
THON receives support across the University community as well as from alumni, friends, and those who have benefitted from THON's efforts. Since 1977 THON has raised more than $127 million for the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, which continues to provide funding and support for pediatric cancer patients and cancer research.
