Thank You Letter

Write your letter in Microsoft Word then paste it here. This will allow you to spellcheck your letter before submitting it.

In your thank you letter, you should:

  • Thank the donor for their support of your education through the scholarship/award.
  • Explain why the donor’s support is so important to you.
  • Share what inspired you to choose your major.
  • Share any activities in which you participate on or off campus.
  • Talk about opportunities you hope to pursue at Penn State Beaver and beyond.
  • Express how you hope to contribute to your field of study.
  • Use a formal closing, such as "Warm regards," "With appreciation," or "Sincerely."

Please type the name of your scholarship or copy and paste that information from the notification email you received.

Submit one form for each scholarship you received.

FERPA Authorization
I authorize The Pennsylvania State University to periodically release personally identifiable information to the scholarship donor for the purpose of updating the donor on my progress at the University. I understand that (1) I have the right not to consent to the release of my education records under FERPA (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974); (2) I have the right to receive a copy of such records upon request; (3) and that this consent shall remain in effect until revoked by me, in writing, and delivered to the Office of Development at Penn State Beaver. The only information the University shares with donors is a scholarship recipient’s name, major, hometown, and semester standing. Grade point average and financial need information are not shared. I give permission to The Pennsylvania State University to publicly announce my selection as a scholarship recipient. This announcement may include, but is not limited to, public information such as my name, area of study and student activities, and the scholarship(s) I am receiving.
