University Police and Public Safety

Your safety matters at Penn State Greater Allegheny

At Greater Allegheny campus, we pride ourselves on maintaining one of the lowest crime rates in the University system. This is because of our dedicated police team, proactive safety programs, and strong partnerships with local law enforcement.

24/7 Security and Protection

University Police and Public Safety officers patrol campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Located on the first floor of the Frable Building, officers are fully sworn in under Pennsylvania law and trained in crisis response, investigations, and crime prevention. All officers wear body cameras and work to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Awareness and Safety Programs

Safety begins with awareness and connection. Through Penn State's Community Oriented Policing program, officers offer free sessions on personal safety, substance awareness, self-defense, and active-attacker preparation. These programs are open to all members of the campus community and help foster a culture of care and responsibility.

Additional Resources

  • PSUAlert System: Receive text, email, and/or voice alerts for weather closures, emergencies, and safety updates.
  • Anonymous Reporting: Share concerns or report suspicious activities confidentially.
  • Emergency Contacts:

    • Non-Emergencies: Call 412-675-9130
