University Police and Public Safety

University Police and Public Safety at Penn State Greater Allegheny is comprised of fully sworn police officers who undergo state-mandated training for law enforcement and hold the same legal authority as municipal police officers across Pennsylvania.

Our University Police officers collaborate closely with city, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to enhance campus safety. This cooperation includes sharing resources for crime prevention programs and conducting joint investigations, ensuring a high standard of police services for both campus and nearby communities. If a Penn State Greater Allegheny student is involved in an off-campus incident, our officers may also participate in the investigation in collaboration with local, state, or federal law enforcement.

While Penn State Greater Allegheny does not operate off-campus housing or facilities for student organizations off-campus, many of our students live in surrounding neighborhoods. Local city and county police departments provide law enforcement services in these areas, depending on jurisdiction.

The Penn State Greater Allegheny University Police and Public Safety department ensures 24-hour campus patrols daily. In addition to general patrol duties, our officers specialize in investigations, crime prevention, parking management, and campus safety programs to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
