Overview
The Psychology minor offers undergraduate students a broad understanding of various psychological topics and domains, as well as skills related to research methods in psychology. Students have the flexibility to deepen their knowledge in one or two specific content areas, including biological, clinical, cognitive, developmental, industrial-organizational, and social psychology. Course offerings emphasize both theory and application, with many courses focusing on the real-world application of psychological research to societal issues.
Why Minor in Psychology?
Adding a Psychology Minor enhances students' competency in a complementary area, benefiting those majoring in a variety of fields or pursuing pre-med or law school tracks. For example, pre-med students in natural science majors or Biobehavioral Health may find the Psychology Minor invaluable for understanding lifespan development, health and well-being, and abnormal and clinical psychology. Additionally, students who minor in psychology may qualify for Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology.
