Who is an adult learner?
You may be considered an adult learner if you:
- Are 24 years of age or older
- Are a veteran or currently serving in the armed forces
- Are returning after four or more years away from school
- Balance responsibilities such as work, family, or caregiving
If you’ve earned 18 or more college credits after high school, you may also qualify as a transfer student.

Applying is Simple
- Create a MyPennState profile. Schedule an admissions appointment to waive the $65 application fee.
- Complete your application. Submit your academic history and required materials.
- Send official transcripts or GED documentation. Once all materials are received, your application is reviewed.
- After admission, pay the $230 registration fee. Students planning to live on campus should also complete the housing contract.
