Congratulations on your acceptance to Penn State Greater Allegheny! This is an exciting time as you prepare to start your college journey. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the steps you need to take after receiving your offer of admission.
1. Accept Your Offer Accept your offer of admission by logging into your MyPennState account or visiting the Finance and Business office on campus to pay your acceptance fee.
- Acceptance fee: $230
- Housing deposit: $100 (for students planning to live on campus) and sign your housing contract.
2. Attend an Accepted Student Program Join us for one of our Accepted Student Programs to get answers to your questions and learn what to expect as you prepare for the fall semester.
3. Apply for Financial Aid
- Complete the FAFSA to apply for federal student aid.
- Explore scholarship opportunities on our Scholarships page.
4. Participate in New Student Orientation (NSO) First-year students are required to attend NSO to prepare for their academic journey. Detailed information will be sent to your email.
5. Submit Immunization Records All incoming students must provide proof of immunizations before arriving on campus.
- Log in to myUHS using your Penn State credentials to upload your immunization records.

6. Complete Required Trainings Complete the Penn State Safe & Aware online module about alcohol education and relationship and sexual violence awareness.

7. Set Up Payment In early August, an electronic bill (eBill) will be emailed to your official University email account. Instructions to view and pay the bill via LionPATH will be provided. Ensure that your Financial Responsibility Statement is signed to finalize course registration.
8. Update Your Calendar Mark important dates like the first day of classes, long weekends, and holidays on the academic calendar.
9. Select a Meal Plan Choose from three meal plan levels. If you live on campus, the meal plan is included in your Housing and Food Service Contract. Off-campus students can purchase a meal plan via eLiving.
10. Buy Your Books Purchase your books and Penn State spirit wear at the Penn State Greater Allegheny bookstore, located in the Student Community Center.
11. Get Your iPad All students receive an iPad as part of our Digital Fluency Project. This provides access to a suite of digital tools for academic and creative use.
12. Get Your Computer Software As a Penn State student, you are eligible for free and discounted software. Visit IT Services for more details.
14. Send Your Final High School Transcripts Submit your final high school transcript indicating your graduation date to Penn State.
