About the Program
The Bachelor of Social Work program prepares students to make a real difference in people’s lives. You’ll learn how to understand social challenges, the cultural and community factors that affect individuals, and how to apply research and best practices to help people thrive. Classroom learning is paired with hands-on experiences in local organizations, giving you the skills needed to succeed as an entry-level social work professional.

In 2023, the B.S.W. program at Greater Allegheny campus has been granted candidacy status by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Candidacy ensures the program meets rigorous quality standards and prepares students for competent professional practice. Students graduating from the program will be recognized as having completed a CSWE-accredited curriculum once full accreditation is attained.
