Two information sessions planned for Penn State MBA in Pittsburgh

Penn State’s part-time master of business administration degree program in Pittsburgh will host two fall events for prospective students at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 and 27. Curriculum, course content, credit exemptions, application requirements, financial aid resources, and GMAT preparation will be discussed at information sessions at the Regional Learning Alliance (RLA), located at 850 Cranberry Woods Drive in Cranberry Township.

Teaching International speaker to discuss climate connections Oct. 3

Penn State Greater Allegheny’s Teaching International program will welcome Joylette Portlock on Oct. 3. Portlock will discuss, "Climate Connections: Education, Empowerment, Humor, and Hope." Portlock is the president of Communitopia, a nonprofit based in Pittsburgh that focuses on climate change communication.

Housing pilots WashAlert app in residence hall laundry facilities

Students living in Sproul Hall at University Park campus and Oak Hall at Penn State Altoona no longer wait to hear the spin cycle complete or dryer buzz. WashAlert sends email or text notifications to students when their load of laundry has finished washing or drying. The online tool reduces the number of times spent visiting the laundry facility to check for available machines or to see if a load is complete.

Guidance counselors make connections on campus

Each year, high school guidance counselors help hundreds of seniors consider their post high school options. Guidance counselors from the Greater Allegheny service area came together on the campus for the annual Guidance Counselor Breakfast.
